HOW IT WORKS

Artists are invited to apply for the PCA Print Commission by following the Application Instructions above and paying the entry fee.

Up to 15 artists will be shortlisted from the applications and asked to produce a bon á tirer proof (or working drawings if the medium precludes this) for an entirely new print.

Up to seven artists will be selected from the shortlist for the Print Commission. Selected artists each receive a supply of quality printmaking paper for editioning, provided by the Print Commission sponsors Arthouse Direct and Clairefontaine. (Please note that artists selected must request approval from the Print Council for use of paper other than that supplied.)

Each selected artist will produce five artist proofs, and a full edition of 30 prints. From this edition, one impression will be held in the PCA Archive Collection, and one will be provided to the Print Commission sponsors in recognition of their support. The remaining impressions will be made available for purchase to subscribers and the public.

The Print Council will pay a fee of $700 (plus GST) to each selected artist. Contractual details for 2021 will be provided on the Conditions and Agreement form forwarded to selected artists.

Non-PCA members are welcome to apply; however artists chosen for the Commission will be required to join the PCA as a member.
